Format
A format is made up of a combination of the different characteristics of a product weather it is a film, series,feature film, short film or a single drama. this is decided through its length, genre, content, narrative and many more different aspects that make up the format. this then effects the way in which they are presented on television and lets the viewer know the type of viewing experience it has to offer below are some examples of the different formats filmed with a single camera.Doctor Who- Series
This is an example of a series format using single camera production as the series is a sc-ifi drama most scenes are all filmed in the same place meaning there is no need for more than one camera to film, although scenes with fast action are filmed with more than one camera to speed up production and so that you are able to view the action form different angles. a series means it is shown for a set amount of time each week and is continuing from the last series each time with one storyline running through.
Feature film
A short film is a film that last a short amount of time, it is usually a linear film showing a start to end of the story line throughout the ilm we are introduced to characters and that set of characters are they kept throughout the film building the storyline. the story lines are built by one event leading to another just like a normal ilm only difference being the timing and more information being fit into a very short period of time.
An example of a short film is 'candy crime' which was awarded best short film it is directed by Ben Jacobson and lasts 1 minute and 30 seconds. it is aimed at a teenage audience and set at a bus stop focusing on a group of teens and a little girl
feature film also known as motion picture can be linear or non-linear depending on the movie. It is a film which lasts a long period of time some lasting up to 3 hours and throughout this set time shows the whole plot from beginning to end. It contains a set of characters that are in the film through out and usually don't change, the films storyline is then built by following the characters and the events that occur to them and each event that happens then leads to another event. and example of a feature film is 'fight club' a movie based in the genre of drama following two main characters which very different ways of life as they cross paths and end up living together and forming an underground fight club. the film is 139 minuets long and was produced in 1999 the main characters include Brad Pitt, Edward Norton, Helena Bonham Carter

Single drama
a single drama is only show once and is often a presentation of real life issues and topics. it is more suitable for television then cinema because of the because of the types of things that are looked into.
one example of a single drama is the murder which is baed on actual events it aired for 1hour on the release date of Tuesday 17th April 2012 the main character in this single drama was Shakilus Townsend
