Post-it love analysis

The short films begins with a establishing shot of a building in a form of a picture on a purple wall, this image suggest that it is a work place as there are many cars and the building is of a large size. It then immediately switches to a close up shot of a woman with shallow focus so all the viewer’s attention is kept on the woman this suggests that she will play a key role in the film, although the surroundings of the woman are not clear the lighting in the background and the movement of people shows that she is at a work place to go with this there is green lighting reflecting on her face suggesting to the viewer that she is working on a photocopying machine. When focusing on the main character it is clear that she is a very neat and tidy person as her hair is up and her buttons are all done up this also may suggest that she may quite a boring and dull person as well as this she has a pin clip in her hair and this shows that she may be quite naive and innocent. As she shows very little facial expression this confirms to the viewers idea that she is at work and this is routine for her and maybe not something she enjoys. Followed by this shot is a bird’s eye view shot of her photocopying this fits with the green lighting that was previously reflection on her face crabbing is used here and the camera moves past the machine she is working on and onto another machine where you then she a males hand doing the same task. The next shot after this is a medium long shot of the two people we have just been introduced to doing their job in a very synchronised form as they are doing all the same actions in the same timing suggesting to the viewer how much they ay have in common or how similar they are to each other. Both booths that they are in are very similar for starters the walls are both purple this colour could suggest passion and love and may be a suggestion to the viewer that this is upcoming in the film, although other objects aren’t exactly positioned in the same place in each booth the similarities are very close and this may be a reflection into the two people and their similarities with each other in this shot we are also much more able to see a clearer mage of the costumes in the film and we see the female wearing pink tights this may suggest to the viewer that love is approaching as this is a colour with connotations to love. The camera then switches to an over the shoulder shot where the viewer is first introduced to the males face they take a glance at each other which suggest that they may be acquaintances but they look away without communication and as there is a wall in between them separating to separate the booths show the viewer that they are not  close and that they still are strangers in reality, the woman’s face shows disappointment as the shot goes into shallow focus which suggests to the viewer that they don’t actually know each other as well as this the children’s clip in her hair is brought into the viewers focus as it is the brightest object in the shot this may suggest that she is quite shy when it comes to communicating with him and is afraid and not very experienced. Moving on from this shot the viewer is introduced to a new location in the offices as the camera takes it place on an office desk, the male walks into frame casually and his surroundings now make it clear to the audience that this scene is being filmed in offices as there are computers and desks placed around the room around him and you are also able to see his colleagues around him in their wok place. When he sits on his desk we then see a medium shot of him sat down and see his reaction to what he sees on his desk, he then opens it and for a few seconds the viewer s only able to view his reaction and is still not able to see what he is looking at the camera then switches to a birds eye view shot and we see what he has been looking at in a eye line match form, there then is a side shot of him looking down on the paper and this is a matching on action to the previous scene the director has intentionally in this case left a large amount of space over his head in the shot as when the character moves back the camera moves with him in crabbing throughout this short film these different shots fit well looking very smooth and effort the positioning of the camera means the audience is able to view all the different things happening and get everything in shot.
