Task 2: Top expert interview tips
Paxman: Newsnight
I looked into Paxmans interviews and was able to find that he uses open questions in his interviews so that the interviewee is able to speak their opinion and explain themselves as well as tell their story. he both uses very direct questions as well as brings a ligt-hearted feel to the interviewer so that they don't feel too uncomfortable as then they won't open up. but he is always clear and does not beat around the bush trying to understand his interviewee and what they are about.
Jenni Murray: Women's Hour
the second video aired on BBC radio 4 shows Presenter of 'Women's Hour' Jenni Murray sharing her experience with interviewing throughout her career, and how to conduct a positive interview that is well planned and structured. She talks about how research is key in a strong interview and this is something she focuses on when she is going to interview someone, this is so that she is able to make fitting questions that make sense and will extract useful information from the interviewee. she also discusses having direct and clear questions that are blunt and to the point this is so that you get the information you need. and lastly she talks about listening to the interviewee and every thing they have to say look awake and as though you are listening as this will make they feel comfortable.
This is a video showing my choice of interview style, this is both an entertainment interview as well as informative as the audience is able to find out personal information about the singer as well as things happening in her career. Jonathan asks direct, open and multiple questions about Adele and also allows the questions to flow if the interviewee talks about another point he will ask another question about that showing that he can go off script making it sound much more conversational and relaxed with a light hearted tone. these interviews are both available online and on TV and allow fans and audiences to feel as though they can relate with the interviewee as they talk about their lives.
